A bit about me
based in southern california & raised in the pacific northwest
I’m a designer by day & hobby-collector by night. I love art museums, music you can feel, and a good gin martini. I laugh easily and often, always look for the bright side, and genuinely love to hear others’ stories.
For as long as I can remember, I have had an innate desire to create, direct, and curate. In my early years, this took the form of countless dance routines I choreographed and performed with my sisters, dresses sewn from old curtains, and many partially-written novels. In early high school I found myself in a ‘digital media’ class, where I was first introduced to photography as an art form. I immediately fell in love. I saw that a photo captures a moment in a way nothing else can. It freezes time, evokes emotion, and allows you to preserve the most important memories. After checking out the school camera for weeks on end, I was gifted my first camera — which came with me everywhere. I had all of my family and friends sit, stand and twirl as models, brought it along to document every family vacation, and won a few state-wide photography competitions.
In college, I focused on studying interaction design and have since found a career in that space. However, I rely on my time behind the camera to fulfill that desire to listen to & capture others’ beautiful stories. The best photo is one that allows the subject’s personality to shine through and be felt by anyone on the other side. This, is my ultimate goal.
